Rowan will discuss key observations including differences in species establishment\, weed competition and summer growth. \n\nDate: Tuesday 3rd February 2026\nTime: 10:00am – 12:00pm\nLocation: Hagley School Farm (Church Lane\, Hagley – Tas)\nFor more information\, download the Pasture 365 Farm Walk Flyer.\n\n  \nField day: Improving lamb survival on leguminous pasture\nJoin Pinion Advisory for a field day focused on the ‘Improving lamb survival on leguminous pastures’ Producer Demonstration Site\, a 4-year project driven by the Longford Red Meat Group in Tasmania. This project is demonstrating four different feedbase and grazing management strategies and the link to lamb red gut cases. Over four years the project looks to identify strategies for reducing red gut cases\, minimising lamb mortalities\, and improving productivity. Attendees will hear from host farmers Sam Lyne (Riccarton\, Campbell Town) and Andrew Archer (Chester\, Westwood) on experiences and observations from the project to date\, receive an update on project preliminary findings and hear from Dr Bruce Jackson (veterinarian consultant) on insights into key lamb diseases and illnesses of relevance to local producers including red gut\, toxoplasmosis and more. \n\nDate: Tuesday 3rd February 2026\nTime: 1:00pm – 3:00pm\nLocation: “Chester”\, Westwood\nFor more information\, download the PDS Field Day Flyer.

SUMMARY:Livestock 2022
DESCRIPTION:Livestock 2022 (L2022) offers a unique opportunity to join a selected group of producers\, researchers and extension professionals for a two day workshop designed to identify future trends impacting on broadacre livestock production in Southern Australia. Attendance is limited to 80 participants. \nUsing a series of scenarios which will be presented and challenged by subject experts\, participants will workshop ideas and concepts relating to a best practice livestock production business of 2035 or thereabouts. The workshops will be highly interactive using small groups each made up of a mixture of researchers\, extension providers and producers. The producers will include the SALRC Regional Chairs and members of the Regional Committees. These producers are at the forefront of broadacre livestock production in Southern Australia. \nThe objective of L2022 is to bring producers\, researchers and extension professionals together to consider what a red meat livestock farm will be like in 20 plus years and the research activity which will be needed to allow them to reach their potential. To assist attendees in moving from here and now to blue sky thinking\, SALRC has engaged Paul Higgins (Futurist) who will develop scenarios for possible futures around four broad topics. Key speakers will challenge / support / add to the scenarios. These four broad topics include – Information Technology\, Bio-technology\, Social Values and Ethics\, and Competing Products. \nA copy of the Program is available for download – Livestock 2022 Program \nRegistrations via Eventbrite \n \n
