Regional Chair – Jason Schulz
Jason Schulz is a livestock producer and agricultural industry leader from Field in South Australia’s Coorong region. Together with his family, Jason operates Schulz Livestock, a 1,313-hectare sheep and beef enterprise focused on productive, profitable and environmentally responsible livestock production, with a strong emphasis on genetics and commercial performance. The business once operated a seedstock enterprise for 14 years, breeding and marketing Limousin and Limousin-composite bulls to commercial beef producers.
Jason has more than 25 years of practical farming experience, complemented by extensive leadership across the Australian red meat industry. He chaired the national LambEx24 conference and was Carcase Showcase Manager for LambEx26, and represented commercial beef producers on the BreedPlan Advisory Committee from 2020–2026, contributing to industry discussions around genetic evaluation, genomics and the practical application of research.
Building on his seedstock experience, Jason served six years as a South Australian Director of Limousin Australia, including as Senior Vice Chairperson, and was involved in establishing the collaborative Genetic Hub model.
Beyond agriculture, Jason is Chairperson of the Coorong Sporting Association and has held leadership roles across education, community organisations and the Country Fire Service. Across these roles, he has developed a strong interest in governance, collaboration, capacity building and ensuring regional voices contribute meaningfully to industry decision-making.
